The above is a quotation from our Managing Director Mr RG Ramsay, when he first started Ramsay Timber almost 30 years ago. His first priority was put customers first and this certainly hasn’t changed. We pride ourselves as one of the few remaining family run timber businesses in the North West, offering our customers a service that is second to none.

Stock

We import extensive stocks of top quality hardwood and softwood. We are dedicated to sourcing the best quality and price then pass this on to our customers. Click on our Stock page to find out more, we are always on hand to offer our experience and knowledge.

Machining

We have a comprehensive milling and machining facility featuring the latest Weinig moulders. We offer a range of standard sections and profiles or we can machine to the customers own bespoke patterns.

Treatment

Our on site treatment plant enables us to provide customers with a Pre-vac treatment. It is a wood preservative that protects against deterioration due to termites and fungal decay. We can also offer priming and lacquering, which our sales team would be happy to assist you with should it be of interest.

Transport

The transport team co-ordinate our fleet of vehicles to travel around the North West, North East, North Wales and Cumbria and the Midlands. This enables us to provide a prompt delivery service wherever you’re based.

Environment

To ensure we have an acceptable policy for the environment, it is a requirement that our suppliers source raw material from managed forests. These forests must be committed to replanting, harvesting and managing programmes of sustainable ecologically friendly forestry. As a company it is our aim to supply PEFC and FSC certified timber to all our customers.
