Woodworking Machinist

We are pleased to be in a position to offer this excellent opportunity to join our Production Mill team.

Role

We're ideally looking for a timber person with experience and knowledge of working in timber production with hardwood and softwood. Your main responsibilities as a Wood Machinist is programming and operating our modern machinery to achieve high quality machined product in various profiles.

Candidate
  • A hardworking, motivated person with an enthusiastic manner and previous history in this field.
  • Must be good with numbers, have an eye for detail and take great pride in their work.
  • Have the ability to work alone and use their own initiative as well as working as a team.
  • Good organisational skills, good time management and a trustworthy nature are essential.

Saw Operator

We are pleased to be able to offer this excellent opportunity to join our team.

Role
  • Responsible for the cutting of raw timber to specification, in preparation for machining.
  • To work from cutting lists and assess the most efficient work process, using confident basic math's skills.
  • Experience and knowledge of working in a timber mill with hardwood and softwood would be an advantage.
  • General duties are setting up and operating a machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment.
Candidate
  • Must be confident with numbers when presented with a cutting list, using a basic but accurate math's ability.
  • It would be an advantage if you have experience of using manually operated saws e.g. Multi-Rip and Re-Saw's.
  • Have an eye for detail and take great pride in their work.
  • Can work alone or as part of a team. Must be organised, reliable and trustworthy.
  • Demonstrate an enthusiastic, flexible, and resilient attitude when dealing with colleagues ensuring a good team togetherness.

Trainee Office Clerk

We are pleased to be in a position to offer this excellent opportunity to join our Admin team.

Role

This is a varied and practical role, perfect for someone who thrives in a team environment, willing to learn and enjoys working with numbers. You'll be based in a fast-paced admin office, supporting a wide range of business functions.

Full training will be provided across all areas, with opportunities to grow as your experience builds.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Filing, photocopying, scanning and other general administrative tasks
  • Handling incoming calls and managing a telephone switchboard
  • Supporting sales and purchase processes
  • Learning sales invoice and purchase invoice processes
  • Calculating specifications using different units of measure
  • Contributing to general housekeeping to ensure a well-organised office
Candidate

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Is confident on the phone and enjoys customer interaction
  • Is comfortable working with numbers and able to calculate using different units of measure
  • Has strong attention to detail, particularly when working with invoices and figures
  • Is computer literate - experience with Excel, Sage, or Bistrack is a bonus but not essential
  • Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths C (Grade 5) or above
  • Is organised, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Shows initiative and picks up new systems and processes quickly
  • Is a team player, ready to support others and take on new challenges
